DeLand police officers arrested a 17-year-old in connection with a shooting that sent one man to the hospital Sunday.
The shooting happened on May 28th in the road directly in front of 604 E. Division Avenue and stemmed from an argument between several parties over a domestic disturbance that occurred the night prior.
Officers were dispatched at 2:19 p.m. and arrived to find the adult male with a single gunshot wound to the upper body. The individual was airlifted to the hospital.
The Criminal Investigations Division responded. The subsequent investigation has led to the development of probable cause to charge Jordan Gardner, a 17-year-old male.
He faces Aggravated Battery (person uses a Deadly Weapon); Obstructing Justice (Tamper w/evidence) and Under 18 YOA (Unlawful possess firearm).
Gardner was arrested without incident at the original location of the shooting. He was transported to the Volusia Family Resource Center and then transferred to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation and the involvement of a juvenile, further details cannot be provided at this time.
