Pennridge Regional Police Officers handled 158 incidents during the week of April 7th to April 13th. A total of 57 traffic citations and warnings were issued during the same week.
INCIDENTS
Suspicious Activity: On April 7th, 2024, officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Schoolhouse Road for a report of juveniles walking towards the woods behind a home. The juveniles were not located by police, and it is believed that the juveniles were walking towards Pennridge Airport.
Juvenile Investigation: On April 8th, 2024, Pennridge Regional Police were notified of a concerning photograph being shared between several juveniles at West Rockhill Elementary School. The incident was investigated, and the incident was determined to be handled appropriately by the school and parents of the involved students.
Juvenile Complaint: Officers were dispatched to the area of Three Mile Run Road and the train overpass for several juveniles climbing on train cars. Upon arrival of officers the juveniles were no longer on scene. A check of the tracks was done and nothing suspicious was found.
Disorderly Conduct: A parent of a student at Pennridge High School came to police headquarters on April 10th, 2024, to report a fight that their child had been involved in while attending the school. Upon investigation it was determined that the fight was over a disagreement during a football game in gym class. The incident was found to be handled appropriately by Pennridge School administrators.
Fraud: A resident of the 2200 block of Old Bethlehem Pike reported on April 12th, 2024, that they received notification from Rocket Mortgage of an application for a mortgage being filed under their name. The information was collected, and due to no loss being incurred no criminal investigation will be conducted.
Trespassing/Disturbance: On April 12th, 2024, officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Forrest Road for an unwanted person. The homeowner reported that an unwanted person was on the property and that they were causing a disturbance. Once the situation was calmed down it was determined that the party was invited to the property but was instructed to leave, so no criminal charges were filed.
ARRESTS
Simple Assault Arrest: Edward Rivera Jr., 34 of West Rockhill, was arrested on April 10th, 2024, following a disturbance at a residence in the 0 hundred block of Holiday House Road. Mr. Rivera was. charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, harassment, and disorderly conduct. Mr. Rivera was arraigned by Magisterial Judge Gambardella and bail was set at $100,000.00 unsecured.
Smoking Device Arrest: Jean Carlos Cordero, 18 of Telford, was found to be in possession of a vape pen while at the Pennridge High School, 1228 N. Fifth St., on April 11th 2024. A non traffic citation was filed against. Mr. Cordero for having a nicotine product on school property.
DUI Arrest: Michael Zonay, 50 of Sellersville, was charged with numerous counts of DUI and leaving the scene of a traffic accident stemming from a traffic crash on March 13th, 2024 at the intersection of Old Bethlehem Pike and Ridge Road. Mr. Zonay was located at his home following the crash and was transported to Grand View Hospital for a blood draw, that blood draw showed the presence of alcohol and marijuana metabolites in his system at the time of the crash. Mr. Zonay will have a preliminary hearing.
TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS
April 7th, 2024: Officers responded to the area of Ridge Valley Road and Gameland Road for a report of a Kia Spectra that had struck a deer as it crossed the roadway. No injuries were reported.
April 7th, 2024: Pennridge Regional Police responded to Ridge Road and Schwenkmill Road for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a Toyota Yaris and a Hyundai Elantra. The Toyota entered the roadway and was struck by the Hyundai. Minor injuries were reported, and the operator of the Hyundai was issued a citation.
April 8th, 2024: Officers were dispatched to the area of Allentown Road and Ridge Valley Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a Honda Accord and a school bus. The school bus stopped waiting to cross over a narrow bridge and was rearended by the Honda. No students were on the bus, and no injuries were reported.
April 8th, 2024: A motor vehicle crash was reported at the intersection of Sterner Mill Road and Rt. 313. Upon arrival officers found a Hyundai and a Subaru pulled off to the side of the roadway. Upon investigation it was determined that the Hyundai was stopped for the stop sign when the Subaru struck the Hyundai in the rear. Minor injuries were reported.
April 12th, 2024: Pennridge Regional officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Allentown Road for a report of a one vehicle motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival officers found a Jeep Grand Cherokee off the side of the roadway. The vehicle had damage following it leaving the roadway and striking a mailbox and then a utility pole. No injuries were reported.
