Home Invasion on Honeylocust Lane: Two Suspects in Custody

Two suspects were taken into custody following a reported home invasion Tuesday morning on the 9000 block of Honeylocust Lane. Around 11:30 a.m., officers responded to reports that the suspects had forced entry through the home's back door. The resident was safely evacuated. One suspect was apprehended quickly, while the other remained inside, prompting a response from NCPD’s SWAT Team. After a standoff lasting several hours, the second suspect surrendered and was taken into custody in the front yard. Delaney Walker, 19, and Derome Brooks, 20, are both charged with Burglary 1st Degree and with Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Violent Crime. Both suspect were jailed at the Dorchester County Detention Center.
