NCPD officers with Nights Team 1 arrested a husband and wife early Tuesday morning after a domestic dispute escalated into violence and gunfire.
Officers responded around 2:25 a.m. to a residence in the 1900 block of Baxter Street. According to police, the husband told officers he fled the home through a bedroom window and locked himself inside a vehicle to get away from his wife.
Police reports state the wife followed him outside and threatened to break the vehicle’s window with a cordless drill. When she was unable to do so, she reportedly left the drill on the roof of the vehicle. The husband then allegedly grabbed the drill and charged toward his wife, at which point she pulled out a firearm.
During a struggle over the gun, a shot was fired. No injuries from the gunfire were reported.
Officers seized the firearm and arrested both individuals. Steven Lamont Lynah Jr., 38, and Tiesha Monique Brown, 33, were each charged with Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature and transported to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
