North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) officers arrested a woman Tuesday afternoon after discovering a large quantity of drugs and firearms during a proactive patrol.

Officers Ptl. Boozer and Pfc. Searles were patrolling the EconoLodge on Northside Drive due to increased drug activity in the area. While on patrol, they noticed an occupied vehicle idling in the parking lot and made contact with the occupant, identified as 25-year-old Anisah Brown.

Upon approaching the vehicle, officers immediately detected the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside. Based on probable cause, they conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered a backpack containing a significant quantity of narcotics and other illegal items.

Inside the backpack, officers found:

• More than 39 grams of methamphetamine
• More than 37 grams of fentanyl
• 7 grams of cocaine
• More than 12 grams of cocaine base
• 16 Xanax bars
• More than 20 grams of marijuana

In addition to the drugs, officers recovered two firearms—one of which was reported stolen through the NCPD.

Brown was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

• Trafficking Fentanyl
• Trafficking Methamphetamine
• Trafficking Cocaine Base
• Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine
• Possession of Schedule IV Narcotics
• Possession of Stolen Goods (<$2,000)
• Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime (6 counts)

She was transported to the Al Cannon Detention Center.
