Overdose Spike Alert

The North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) has been alerted to a significant increase in drug overdose cases.

An Overdose Spike Alert notification was received regarding an increase in overdoses within the past 24hrs.

Our Opioid Prevention Coordinator closely monitors overdose incidents using the HIDTA Overdose Detection Mapping Application Program (OD MAP), which is a tool that first responders use to track these incidents throughout the Lowcountry. The tool enables proactive planning and boosts the availability of Narcan, a vital medication, in areas where it's needed most.
