Saturday was a powerful morning of recognition, inspiration, and celebration as our agency’s Cops Athletic Program hosted its annual Black History Month Celebration at Royal Baptist Church.
Several of our dedicated officers, city council members, city employees, and esteemed community leaders were honored for their outstanding contributions and unwavering commitment to serving our community. We were also proud to recognize three exceptional local students for their heartfelt essays commemorating 100 years of Black history—their words reflected insight, pride, and hope for the future.
Uplifting songs and vibrant dancing brought attendees to their feet, filling the room with joy and unity. The celebration was highlighted with everyone joining together to sing Lift Every Voice and Sing, the African American National Anthem— a powerful reminder of resilience, progress, and shared purpose.
Congratulations to everyone who helped make this year’s Black History Month Celebration a tremendous success!
