This morning at Fort Dorchester High School, a staff member informed the School Resource Officer (SRO) about a student who allegedly told another student that he was carrying a firearm. The SRO proceeded to the cafeteria to address the situation. There, the officer identified a student who matched the description given by the staff member. When asked to remove his hands from his hoodie pockets, the student said he had a weapon. The officer, acting with caution, drew his service weapon and instructed the student to lie on the ground. The student was then safely detained. Fortunately, no one was harmed during the incident, and officers are continuing their investigation to ensure the safety and security of everyone at the school. At this time, no charges have been filed against the student.
