Chief Camacho recently completed Phase One of the department’s new Professional Wellness Program, marking a strong start to this innovative initiative. As part of this phase, the Chief personally led a course focused on emotional intelligence and introspection as tools to enhance leadership. Nearly seventy officers, from Sergeants to Deputy Chiefs, participated in this training aimed at fostering more self-aware, empathetic, and effective leaders.
In addition, Chief Camacho taught a class on ego suppression to more than 220 officers and detectives, emphasizing the importance of humility, accountability, and team-focused leadership in modern policing.
Phase Two of the program begins next week with the onboarding of the professional coaching platform, Performance Protocol, which will provide personalized coaching and development resources for department members at all levels.
This multi-phase initiative reflects the department's commitment to holistic officer development, emotional wellness, and strong, reflective leadership.
