The North Charleston Police Department's (NCPD) Traffic Unit is investigating a single-vehicle fatal collision that occurred on I-526 westbound.

In the evening of July 11th, at approximately 7:07pm, officers responded to the area of I-526 westbound and Paramount Dr for a single-vehicle collision. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that had left the roadway and struck the cable barrier. The driver and sole occupant was pronounced deceased at the collision scene. No other vehicles were identified as involved with this incident.

This collision remains under active investigation by NCPD's Traffic Unit and the Charleston County Coroner's Office.
