UPDATE: Vehicle located and arrest made.

The North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) is investigating a fatal vehicle vs. pedestrian hit & run collision that occurred on New Year's Day. At approximately 7:49pm, an unknown vehicle struck a pedestrian on Rivers Ave near Hawthorne Dr. The vehicle fled, while the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries from the collision. 

No arrests have been made at this time. Our Traffic Unit and the Charleston County Coroner's Office continue to investigate.
