The North Charleston Police Department's (NCPD) Traffic Unit is investigating a deadly crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle that took place at the intersection of Rivers Avenue and Dalton Street around 4:45 pm on May 27th.

Initial findings suggest that the vehicle was making a lawful right turn when it was struck by the motorcycle, resulting in fatal injuries to the motorcyclist.

The collision led to the temporary closure of lanes on Rivers Avenue and Dalton Street while officers conducted their investigation. The roadways were reopened once the preliminary investigation was completed.

The Traffic Unit, in collaboration with the Charleston County Coroner's Office, is continuing to investigate the incident. At present, no charges are anticipated against the driver of the vehicle involved in the collision.
