On March 12, 2026, Officer Corter and Mayor Slaughter visited the Salvation Army to educate kids about the importance of summer safety and stranger danger awareness.
During the interactive session, Officer Corter emphasized the need for children to be aware of their surroundings, to use caution when crossing streets, and to be safe when riding bicycles and scooters, especially during the summer months, when they may spend more time outdoors.
The kids learned valuable tips for staying safe while playing outside, including being cautious around strangers and knowing what to do in an emergency.
The Williamsport Bureau of Police is committed to promoting safety and well-being in our community, especially among our young residents. We encourage parents and guardians to continue the conversation with their children about summer safety and stranger danger awareness.
Remember, safety is everyone's responsibility! Let's work together to make our community a safer place for all.
