With the Little League World Series underway in our area, now is a great time to meet some of our fine local police officers and our federal partners.
It's easy. Want to know how? Fly your drone into a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR).
For large-scale events such as the NFL Draft, presidential visits, and yes, the Little League World Series, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) may establish a Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) around the event.
A TFR restricts aircraft operations within a specific geographic area—and that includes DRONES.
Yep, you read that correctly. Just because you purchased your drone at a local store or online doesn't mean you can fly it wherever you want. As the pilot, you are responsible for knowing and following FAA rules and regulations, including restrictions associated with a TFR.
And here's the important part:
It doesn't matter where you launch your drone. If your drone enters a TFR, you, as the pilot, may be in violation of federal regulations.
Flying a drone in a TFR can result in enforcement action, fines, confiscation of your drone, and potentially serious federal penalties.

Want to see a list of current TFRs around the country? Visit the FAA's TFR website: FAA Temporary Flight Restrictions
Our officers are friendly and would love to meet you. Ask them for a pin!
But remember...
Flying your drone in a TFR is the WRONG way to meet them.
