Cold Weather Safety Alert
The Williamsport area is expected to experience subfreezing temperatures over the next week. As the cold sets in, the Williamsport Police Department would like to remind everyone to take extra precautions to keep themselves, their families, and their pets safe.
--Heating Safety--
Please be cautious with unsafe or unconventional heating practices inside your home. Never use ovens, grills, or outdoor heating devices indoors, and ensure space heaters are used according to manufacturer guidelines and kept away from flammable materials.
--Protect Your Pets--
Pets are especially vulnerable in extreme cold. If possible, keep pets indoors to prevent exposure, frostbite, or hypothermia.
