***Update***

On 03/28/2026 at approximately 1227 hours, Williamsport Police units responded to a reported shooting at 2206 Central Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located 40-year-old Andrew Tubbs deceased at the scene, having suffered a gunshot wound.

Earlier in the evening on 03/27/2026, Andrew Tubbs was involved in an altercation with his father, with whom he resided. Upon leaving the residence, Andrew took a kitchen knife with him. His father subsequently contacted Kaiden Tubbs (21), Andrew’s son.

When Kaiden Tubbs arrived at the residence, an altercation ensued between the two. During the incident, Andrew Tubbs produced a knife. In response, Kaiden Tubbs produced a legally owned firearm and discharged it, striking Andrew Tubbs.

Kaiden Tubbs was detained at the scene and transported to Police Headquarters, where he was interviewed. Multiple witnesses were also interviewed. Following consultation with the Lycoming County District Attorney’s Office, it was determined that no charges would be filed against Kaiden Tubbs at that time.

On 03/28/2026, at approximately 1227 hours, Williamsport Police Units responded to a shooting incident at 2206 Central Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 40-year-old male victim who had been struck by gunfire. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A person of interest was detained at the scene and transported to Police Headquarters.
