WBP In# 21-07433 - Armed Robbery - High St & Dale Pl / W. Third St & Campbell St

   Shortly after midnight on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2021, Williamsport Bureau of Police Units were emergency dispatched to an armed robbery which just occurred in the area of High St at Dale Pl. Officers made contact with a victim, who gave a detailed description of two suspects wearing ski masks and brandishing a rifle and a handgun. The suspects took the victim's backpack before fleeing in a black SUV. 

    A short time later officers were dispatched to another armed robbery which just occurred in the area of W. Third St and Campbell St. Officers responded to the scene and made contact with two victims, who gave the same description of the suspects and weapons as the previous robbery. The victims were informed they were being robbed, and the victims were relieved of an amount of cash before the suspects fled in a black Kia Sorrento SUV.

   Shortly after relaying this information to patrolling officers, PO Charles Schwab observed a black Kia Sorrento SUV a short distance from the scene. A high-risk stop was affected on the vehicle, and (4) occupants were taken into custody:  Moreece Person (18), Dawson Crawford (17), Kevin Cagle (16), and Tyrell Labounty (16). Officers also located the rifle, handgun, ski masks, and stolen items within the suspect vehicle.

   Person, Crawford, Cagle, and Labounty were all charged with Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Simple Assault, Theft, and related charges. All four suspects were arraigned before MDJ Christian Frey before being committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $250,000.000 each. 

[Note: Although Crawford, Cagle and Labounty are juveniles they were directly filed into adult court due to the severity of these charges.]
