On May 2nd, 2026, at approximately 2:54 pm, officers of the Williamsport Bureau of Police were dispatched to a residence in the 2600 block of W. 4th St for a 3rd party report of someone shot within and the gunman still on scene. Officers arrived and due to the exigency of the situation, made entry into the residence. Upon making entry into the residence, officers encountered four individuals within. It was quickly determined that there was no shooting victim inside and all residents were okay and safe. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the call to the Lycoming County Communications Center originated out of the area.
