Lycoming Regional Police Department will participate in a statewide aggressive‑driving enforcement wave running March 16 through April 26, 2025. Officers will conduct targeted enforcement on various roadways and highways throughout our jurisdiction.
LRPD joins approximately 300 municipal police agencies and the Pennsylvania State Police in focusing on motorists who exhibit aggressive driving behaviors, including distracted driving, speeding, and unsafe actions in work zones.
In 2024, Pennsylvania recorded 3,530 crashes involving at least one speeding driver. These crashes resulted in 193 fatalities and 454 suspected serious injuries. Speeding remains one of the most common—and preventable—aggressive driving factors.
“Traffic safety isn’t about citations—it’s about protecting people. When drivers take a few extra seconds to slow down, stay patient, and avoid aggressive decisions, they’re helping our region stay safe. Our officers see firsthand how quickly an aggressive related driving crash can change someone’s life. This enforcement wave is about encouraging safer habits and preventing tragedy,” stated Chief Kriner.
LRPD encourages all motorists to slow down, stay alert, and make safe choices behind the wheel. Our goal is simple: reduce crashes, prevent injuries, and keep our region safe.
The traffic safety enforcement is part of Pennsylvania’s Highway Safety Program and is funded by part of PennDOT’s investment of federal funds from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
