On April 29, 2026, at approximately 4:23 PM Lycoming Regional Police were dispatched to a disturbance between two females at Weis Markets, 1916 Lycoming Creek Rd. in Old Lycoming Township. The incident stemmed from an ongoing issue involving an ex-boyfriend and his current girlfriend.
One of the females, who was upset about the other taking pictures of her child at a sporting event and not responding to Facebook messages, approached the other inside the store. The situation escalated when the second female made threatening statements over the phone and then physically attacked the first female. The altercation continued until the two were separated and the actor fled the store.
Officers observed injuries on the victim, including redness on the left side of her face near her temple and a small nail mark. Witnesses corroborated the victim's account, stating they overheard the threatening statements and saw the physical altercation.
The victim was provided with a victim's rights pamphlet. The other female was issued a summary citation for harassment.
The incident underscores an important message: Disorderly behavior and physical altercations can have serious consequences. The Lycoming Regional Police Department takes these incidents seriously and will continue to work to ensure all our residents have a welcoming and safe shopping experience at businesses in our region.
