Incident Summary - DUI Arrest on Allegheny Street

On October 26, 2026, at approximately 12:26 AM, a Lycoming Regional Police Department officer patrolling the 800 block of Allegheny Street observed a gray Toyota sedan traveling eastbound without headlights. The vehicle failed to navigate a curve, crossing the double yellow line into the oncoming traffic lane before entering the Nittany Minit Mart parking lot, where the officer initiated a traffic stop.

The driver, Michael W. Sellinger, displayed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and had the smell of an alcoholic beverage on his person. During the DUI investigation, Sellinger attempted to return to his vehicle but was redirected to the police vehicle by the officer. He then tried to flee on foot, running across Allegheny Street toward Wye Alley. The individual did not make it very far before being apprehended by the officer.

The individual was taken into custody and was charged accordingly.
