On Monday, April 15, 2024, at approximately 9:10 PM, the Quarryville Police Department (QPD) responded to the 200 block of Meadow Ln. in Quarryville Borough for a report of shots fired into an occupied residence. 

During the investigation it was learned that an occupied residence was struck by multiple shots, however, there were no reports of anyone being injured. Since then, Detectives with the Quarryville Police Department, aided by the Lancaster County Office of the District Attorney and the Pennsylvania State Police, have been diligently investigating this complex incident and have now identified the shooter as being Steven Scott Gaddis of Nottingham, PA. There were no credible connections between the residents and the accused shooter in this incident. 

On Friday, October 18, 2024, the Quarryville Borough Police in coordination with the Lancaster County District Attorney's office charged Gaddis with one (1) count of Aggravated Assault (F1), one (1) count of Discharge of a Firearm into an Occupied Structure (F3) and three (3) counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M2).

Gaddis is currently incarcerated in Chester County (PA) Prison on unrelated felony charges and will remain in custody pending a Preliminary Hearing in this matter. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Detective Burns of the Quarryville Borough Police department
