On Friday, September 2, 2022 at approximately 10:17pm, Officers with the Quarryville Police Department were monitoring traffic at the Turkey Hill store, located at 265 West State St. in Quarryville Borough. They observed a Harley Davidson motorcycle exit the parking lot onto West 4th St.
After observing the operator of the motorcycle commit numerous vehicle code violations and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The operator then fled from police until police were able to bring the pursuit to a stop in Eden Township, PA.
The operator of the motorcycle, later identified as Frank J. AMORIELLO, resisted arrest. While attempting to take Frank AMORIELLO into custody, the passenger on the motorcycle, later identified as his wife, Lori AMORIELLO, interfered with officers. When the officer attempted to take Lori AMORIELLO into custody, she resisted arrest as well.
Frank AMORIELLO was subsequently charged with one (1) count of Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer (M2), one (1) count of Resisting Arrest or Other Law Enforcement (M2), and numerous traffic violations. Lori AMORIELLO was charged with one (1) count of Obstructing Administration of Law or other Governmental Function (M2), and one (1) count of Resisting Arrest or Other Law Enforcement (M2).
Both defendants were transported to the Lancaster County Prison (LCP) for processing and arraignment. A preliminary hearing in the matter will be scheduled before the Honorable Stuart J. MYLIN of Magisterial District Court 02-3-04 in Quarryville, PA.
