For the first time since 2019, Smith Middle School brought back the popular Lock In on April 25th from 3:00–9:00 PM, sponsored by Student Senate, with Officers from the Quarryville Borough Police (SRO CHeryl Thompson, Officer Jon Keene, Officer Matt Diemedio) being invited to participate by the students. Leading up to the big night, students earned raffle tickets through a Food Drive (4/7–4/11) and an Easter Egg Hunt (4/14–4/17) to be able to have this student-centered motivational event.
The Lock In featured exciting events like the Teachers Masked Singer Contest, a live DJ, games, and competitions. Highlights included matball, relay races, musical chairs, limbo, and more! The top fundraisers even got to pie Mr. Klansek—and helped duct tape Mr. Stickler to the wall! The members of the Quarryville Borough Police were honored to be invited by the students, and all expressed that they had an excellent time mentoring and participating in the various activities with the students.
