On 25 June 2022, Quarryville Police Officers made contact with a vehicle that was occupied by Matthew Watson of Landenburg, PA. The vehicle was seized from a parking lot in the 20 block of East State Street in Quarryville as part of a drug investigation. Quarryville Police Officers obtained a search warrant for the vehicle that was executed on 26 June 2022. A search of the vehicle yielded drugs and drug paraphernalia.  During the search, officers discovered items that had been reported stolen from a burglary that occurred in Quarryville Borough two weeks prior.

The victim of the burglary responded to the Quarryville Police Department and positively identified over a dozen stolen items from the burglary. Also recovered from inside the vehicle were several tools consistent with the method of entry during the burglary. On the evening of 26 June 2022, Quarryville Police Officers conducted an operation where Watson was taken into custody and taken to the Lancaster County Prison for arraignment.  He was ultimately committed to the prison on a State Parole detainer.  Burglary and drug charges were filed before District Justice Stuart Mylin 02-3-04, Quarryville PA. 

All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
