On 24 March 2023, at approximately 1730 hours (5:30 PM), an Officer with the Quarryville Police Department was conducting a traffic enforcement detail on South Lime Street (SR0472) in Quarryville Borough. During the detail, the officer clocked a vehicle travelling 56 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone. The Officer followed the vehicle to the intersection of East State Street and South Lime Street (SR0372 & SR0472) where the vehicle pulled out from a stop sign in front of another vehicle, nearly causing a crash. The Officer initiated a vehicle stop in a safe location in the 100 block of East State Street. During the vehicle stop, the Officer determined the driver, Brandin Watson of Newark, Delaware, to be under the influence of alcohol. Watson was arrested for DUI and processed following additional post arrest alcohol testing. Charges were filed against Watson at District Court 02-3-04.
