On August 14, 2026, at approximately 10:39 p.m., Quarryville Borough Police conducted a traffic stop on East State Street after observing a blue Ford traveling on the roadway with defective equipment. During the stop, the passenger, John Bagwell, was seen making suspicious movements and appeared extremely nervous. Officers conducted a check of the passenger seat area and discovered approximately 22 grams of suspected methamphetamine under the passenger seat. Bagwell was transported to the Quarryville Police Department, where he was processed and released on the above offenses. The driver was also arrested and charged with drug offenses and the traffic violation. Both are awaiting their preliminary hearing before District Magistrate Mankin.
The accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
