2026 Pequea Township National Night Out

Neighbors, Families, and First Responders Come Together for National Night Out in Pequea Township

On the evening of Tuesday, August 4, the grounds of the West Willow Fire Company will become a gathering place where neighbors meet neighbors, children explore emergency vehicles, and the community connects with the men and women who serve and protect them every day.

The Pequea Township Police Department is proud to host the 2026 Pequea Township National Night Out from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., inviting residents from throughout the township and surrounding communities to enjoy a free evening dedicated to strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the public.

National Night Out is celebrated across the country each year as a way to promote community partnerships and neighborhood spirit. In Pequea Township, the event has become an opportunity for residents to interact with local police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and community organizations in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.

Visitors can expect an evening filled with activities for all ages. Children will have the chance to climb inside police cars, fire engines, and other emergency vehicles while learning about the equipment used by first responders. Families can enjoy food and refreshments, visit informational booths hosted by local organizations, and participate in activities designed to educate and entertain.

For many residents, National Night Out offers something increasingly valuable—the opportunity to have conversations with local police officers outside of an emergency situation. Officers from the Pequea Township Police Department will be available throughout the evening to answer questions, discuss crime prevention, share public safety information, and simply get to know the people they serve.

"Events like National Night Out remind us that public safety is a shared responsibility," said Chief John Michener. "Building trust doesn't happen only when we're responding to calls for service. It happens by talking with residents, listening to their concerns, and getting to know one another. We want everyone to feel comfortable stopping by, asking questions, and enjoying an evening with their neighbors and local first responders."

The department believes strong communities are built through communication, cooperation, and personal connections. National Night Out provides an opportunity to strengthen those connections while celebrating the partnerships that help keep Pequea Township a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.

The Pequea Township Police Department extends its sincere appreciation to the participating emergency service agencies, community organizations, volunteers, sponsors, and local businesses whose generosity and support make this event possible.  Additional volunteers are still needed to make this event run smoothly and donations are being accepted to be put towards next year’s National Night Out event.

Whether you're new to the township or have called Pequea home for decades, everyone is encouraged to attend.
