On 5/25/21 at approx. 7:30 PM the Pequea Township PD was dispatched to the Silvermine park for a report of a missing person.  A 21 year old male from Lancaster with mental health issues was reported missing in the park.   PTPD requested the New Danville Fire Company respond to assist in the search.  The male was quickly located and safely reunited with his family.   

The missing male was wearing a Project Life Saver bracelet which is a tracking device worn by individuals prone to wandering.  Luckily he was located quickly enough that we never had the chance to use the Project Lifesaver equipment, however it was available if needed.    The PTPD is part of the Project Lifesaver team and has members trained to locate missing persons using the Project Lifesaver equipment.  More information on Project Lifesaver is available on our website at www.pequeatownshippd.org .
