Criminal Attempt Theft

Ephrata Police are investigating an attempted theft of an air conditioning unit on 12-21-22 at 0730hrs at the Adamstown Carwash in the 3000 Block of N. Reading Road (PA Rt. 272) , Adamstown Borough.   Adamstown Carwash owner reported he discovered an outside air conditioning unit next to the building was knocked from its base and damaged.  The owner checked his video surveillance and found a white male dressed in black driving a blue Nissan Xterra backed up to the unit and over the course of approximately 15 minutes attempted to knock the AC unit from it base going as far as backing his blue Nissan Xterra into the unit twice in an attempt to knock it free from its base.   The suspect's vehicle sustained a broken driver's side tail lens.   The suspect was unsuccessful and fled the scene south on PA 272 toward Willow Street.  The vehicle did not have a registration displayed.   Ephrata Police are continuing their investigation into the attempted theft and vandalism.  If anyone recognizes the pictured vehicle with broken driver's tail lens or have information concerning this incident please contact Off.
