On February 23, 2026, the Ephrata Police Department Investigations Section filed a juvenile allegation for Receiving Stolen Property (F3) against a juvenile suspect.
The investigation began on October 2, 2025, when the owner of a 2014 Hyundai Elantra reported the vehicle stolen in West Cocalico Township. The vehicle was later recovered on the same date, abandoned in the State Game Lands parking lot, along North Blainsport Road in Reinholds.
Upon examination, the Hyundai's ignition and steering column were found to be disassembled. The Ephrata Police Department Evidence Technician processed the stolen vehicle for latent fingerprints, which led to several prints being lifted from the car. These prints were matched to a juvenile suspect, already known to the police department for involvement in other vehicle thefts.
Further investigation revealed Snapchat pictures and videos from the juvenile's account, depicting the suspect in the stolen vehicle.
All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
