On Friday, May 1, 2026, at approximately 1654 hours, the Ephrata Police Department responded to a vehicle crash involving a struck pedestrian on Clearview Ave. at Dawn Ave., Ephrata Borough. A Toyota Rav4 driven by a 62-year-old male of Ephrata, proceeded through the stop sign and struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The pedestrian, a 55-year-old Ephrata resident was transported to Lancaster General Hospital for critical injuries and later succumbed those injuries. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and remained on scene.  The crash is still under investigation and any who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Officer Adams at (717) 739-9200 ext. 270. Ephrata Police were assisted by Ephrata Ambulance and WellSpan paramedics, Penn Medicine and Lincoln Fire Department.
