POLICE INCIDENTS FROM 6/9/21 THRU 6/24/21

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: On 6-9-21 at 1943 hrs, police made a traffic stop on Spooky Nook Rd in the area of Landisville Rd.  Following investigation, the driver, Tina Williams (40) of Landisville, was found to be intoxicated.  Williams was charged with Driving Under the Influence-4th Offense (F3) and a summary traffic violation.  She was taken into custody and transported to Lancaster County Prison.

ACCIDENT INVOLVING DAMAGE TO ATTENDED VEHICLE: On 6-8-21 David Bingaman (57) of Wyomissing was charged with Accident Involving Damage to Attended Vehicle/Property (M3) and multiple summary traffic violations, stemming from an incident 5-20-21.  Bingaman is alleged to have struck a bicyclist with his vehicle in the 2400 block of Columbia Ave and continued to drive until a Lancaster City Police Bureau officer stopped him in the 200 block of W King St.

DOG LAW VIOLATION: On 6-7-21 Melissa Newcomer (42) of Mountville was cited with Confined Within Premises of Owner (S).  Newcomer’s dog was found running at large 6-3-21 in the 2600 block of Spring Valley Rd.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT: On 6-11-21 Luz Gonzalez (34) of Millersville was charged with Aggravated Assault (F3); Simple Assault (M2); and Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M2), stemming from an incident on 6-9-21 in the area Embassy Dr and Running Pump Rd. Gonzalez is alleged to have purposely driven a vehicle towards a 24-year-old female, causing the victim to jump onto the hood of the moving vehicle. The victim sustained injury(s) to her legs as a result.

PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS: On 6-14-21 Tara Lynn Sapone (51) of Lancaster was cited with Public Drunkenness (S), stemming from an incident 6-3-21 at Red Carpet Inn, 2101 Columbia Ave.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On 6-14-21 Louis Osario Melendez (18) of Lancaster and a 17-year-old male of Lancaster were both cited with Disorderly Conduct (S) and Criminal Mischief (S), stemming from an incident 6-7-21 at Sheetz Mini Market, 3101 Columbia Ave, where they are alleged to have punched and kicked the windshield of a vehicle.

THEFT: On 6-15-21 Ronald Hammond (52) of Lancaster was charged with Theft of Property Lost (M1), stemming from an incident 5-4-21 at Lowe’s, 25 Rohrerstown Rd.  Hammond is alleged to have walked out of the store with an employee’s tote bag/purse. 

FIREARMS NOT TO BE CARRIED WITHOUT LICENSE: On 6-17-21 Timothy Hood (53) of East Petersburg was charged with 2 counts of Firearms not to be Carried without License (F3) and Simple Assault (M2), stemming from a road rage incident 6-7-21 on Centerville Rd in the area of Route 30.

THEFT: On 6-17-21 Michael Cody Fox (24) of Gap was charged with Theft (M3), Criminal Mischief (M3) and Possess Instrument of Crime (M1).  Fox is alleged to have used a bolt cutter to remove locks and cash from vending machines at Personal Touch Car Wash, 916 Links Ave, on 6-16-21.  Total estimated value of loss $18.00.  Total estimated value of damage $1,260.00.

THEFT: On 6-18-21 at 2315 hrs, police responded to the first block of Colonial Crest Dr for a domestic dispute.  Following investigation, Merrick Mason (44) of Lancaster was charged with Theft (F2), Possession of Firearm Prohibited (F2) and Terroristic Threats (M1).  A warrant was issued for his arrest.  On 6-19-21, Merrick was located at Motel 6, 2129 Lincoln Highway East by East Lampeter Township Police.  He was taken into custody, turned over to East Hempfield Township Police and transported to Lancaster County Prison, where he was remanded unable to post bail.

WARRANT SERVICE: On 6-18-21 police responded to Days Inn, 2929 Hempland Rd, for a warrant service.  Christopher Vazquez (48) of Mountville had a warrant for domestic violence strangulation through the Sheriff’s Department.  He was located within the hotel, taken into custody and turned over to the Sheriff’s Deputies.

THEFT: On 6-18-21 police responded to the 1800 block of Village Cir for a theft report.  Sometime between 4-4-21 and 5-9-21, unknown actor(s) removed several rings from a residence.  Total estimated value of loss $8,500.00.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On 6-18-21 police responded to the 2000 block of Gochlan Rd for a theft report.  Sometime between 1700-1730 hrs this same date, actor(s) removed an envelope with cash in it from an unlocked vehicle.  Total estimated value of loss $1,010.00.

PROTECTION FROM ABUSE VIOLATION: On 6-20-21 at 2312 hrs, police responded to the 1500 block of Swarr Run Rd for a disturbance.  Following investigation, Kevin Joyner, Jr (38) of Lancaster was charged with Contempt for Violation of Order (M3) and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

DEFIANT TRESPASS: On 6-21-21 police responded to Command Fire Apparatus, 77 Lanco Sq, for a trespass report. Following investigation, Lawrence Eckert, Jr (66) of Slatington, PA was cited with Defiant Trespass (S).

STRANGULATION-DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: On 6-22-21 at 2204 hrs, police responded to the first block of Norlawn Cir for a domestic in progress.  Following investigation, Ryan Shirk (22) of Lancaster was charged with Strangulation (F2), and 2 counts of Simple Assault-Domestic Violence (M2).  Shirk was located in the 700 block of Sylvan Rd, taken into custody and transported to Lancaster County Prison.

WARRANT SERVICE: On 6-22-21 while on patrol, police located a male sleeping on a bench at Largo of Lancaster, 3071 Columbia Ave.  Following investigation, Douglas Givler (54) homeless, was found to have a warrant through the Sheriff’s Department.  Givler was taken into custody and transported to Lancaster County Prison. 

THEFT: On 6-22-21 police received a theft report from Schopf Farms, 1900 State Rd.  On 6-9-21 at 1956 hrs, a male was captured on video surveillance loading a wooden vegetable storage bin into a truck without making payment.  Total estimated value of loss $10.00.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On 6-24-21 police responded to the 700 block of Barr Blvd for a theft report.  Sometime between 6-23-21 at 1500 hrs and 6-24-21 at 0830 hrs, actor(s) removed a Coach wallet containing cash and gift cards from an unlocked vehicle.  Total estimated value of loss $1,240.00.

VEHICLE THEFT: On 6-24-21 police responded to the 600 block of Barr Blvd for a stolen vehicle report.  Sometime between 0820 and 0900 hrs this same date, actor(s) removed a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado truck, grey in color, from a driveway.  Total estimated value of loss $1,000.00.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On 6-24-21 police responded to the Dollar Tree, 165 Rohrerstown Rd, for a vandalism report.  Sometime between 6-15-21 at 0600 hrs and 6-18-21 at 1000 hrs, actor(s) wrote on a metal door plate and dumpster with black permanent marker.  Total estimated value of damage $20.00.

RECKLESSLY ENDANGERING ANOTHER PERSON: On 6-24-21 Martel Major (31) of York was charged with (2) counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person (M2), Criminal Mischief (Sum.), (2) summary traffic violations; Lonnie M. Ashford (48) of Mountville was cited with Harassment (Sum.); and Davontay P. Williams (27) of Mountville was cited with Harassment (Sum.). The charges were the result of an incident on 6-4-21 in the 2900 block of Old Tree Dr that started as a dispute. Ashford and Williams were traveling together in a vehicle. Major was traveling in another vehicle. Major is alleged to have purposely rammed his vehicle into the vehicle occupied by Ashford and Williams.
