Between approximately 0515hrs and 0800hrs on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, East Hempfield Twp. Police were dispatched to a series of vehicle crashes along Rt. 283 (both east and westbound lanes) in the area of State Rd. (Rt. 722) and Rt. 741 exits. Numerous occupants of the vehicles involved were transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. Traffic was severely delayed in the area during the duration of the initial investigation(s). The crashes are still under investigation.
