Over the last few months, the EHTPD has noticed an uptick in police-related messages being left in the non-police voicemail of the Township offices. This is problematic for us, because if the Township offices are closed (i.e. - evenings and weekends), we don't receive the message until day(s) later! More importantly, it is problematic for citizens who have an issue that they want the police to address! Some of the messages that we have received DAYS after the fact, were for in-progress situations. Although our front desk is only staffed Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, we are still a 24/7 operation! Your calls are important to us. We appreciate when citizens are trying to be respectful with only using "911" for actual emergencies, but we still endeavor to be of service as quickly as possible. As such, when calling EHTPD for routine or non-emergency situations, please dial 717-898-3103. If no one is working at our front desk, your call will be automatically transferred to Lancaster County-Wide Communications (LCWC), who will promptly have an on-duty officer call you back or respond to your location.
