On the above date and time a 16 year veteran of the Manor Twp. Police Department was responding to a call in a 2014 Ford Explorer Police Vehicle with lights and siren activated. The Officer was traveling west on Columbia Ave. As he approached the intersection at Centerville Rd. he proceeded to clear the intersection. At that time a 2012 Mercedes SUV being operated by a 55 year old male was traveling South on Centerville Rd. The driver of the Mercedes proceeded into the intersection and into the path of the westbound Police Vehicle. Subsequently, the front of the police vehicle struck the left side of the Mercedes. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Neither the operator of the Mercedes nor his 58 year old passenger reported any injuries as a result of the crash. The Manor Twp. Police Officer sustained minor injuries and was transported to Lancaster General Hospital by Susquehanna Valley EMS.
