POLICE INCIDENTS FROM 1/19/24 THRU 1/25/24

RETAIL THEFT: On 1-19-24 police responded to CVS, 2110 Spring Valley Rd, for a retail theft report.  Between 1725 hrs and 1743 hrs, an unknown female scanned laundry pods, soap bars, shampoo, body wash and toothpaste at the self-check-out and then left with the items before paying for the transaction.  Total estimated value of loss $76.54.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: On 1-21-24 police responded to the 300 block of Cornell Ave for a single vehicle accident.  Following investigation, Bryce Kenneth Dombach (22) of Mount Joy was charged with (2) counts of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (M) and a summary traffic violation.

RETAIL THEFT: On 1-22-24 police responded to Sheetz, 2149 State Rd, for a retail theft report.  Between 1122 hrs and 1130 hrs, a male and female entered the beer cooler, picked up (3) cases of Corona beer and (1) six pack of Corona beer and then left the store without making payment.  Total estimated value of loss $70.16.

BURGLARY: On 1-23-24 at 1551 hrs, police responded to a burglary in progress in the 1000 block of Hunters Path.  Sometime between 1410 hrs and 1519 hrs, actor(s) forced entry into a residence through the back door.  The home was rummaged through, but nothing was found to be missing at this time.

RETAIL THEFT: On 1-23-24 Kenneth A Sanchez (34) of Lancaster was charged with Retail Theft (S), stemming from an incident 1-17-24 at Turkey Hill, 1503 Columbia Ave.  Sanchez allegedly placed a wireless cell phone charger, power pack and Tastykake snacks into his pants and left the store without making payment.   Total estimated value of loss $37.52.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On 1-24-24 police received a vandalism report at Hempfield High School, 200 Stanley Ave.  Sometime between 0907 hrs and 1237 hrs, actor(s) broke a shelf in the boy’s bathroom by the library.  Total estimated value of damage $25.00.

THEFT: On 1-24-24 police received a theft report at Hempfield High School, 200 Stanley Ave.  Sometime between 0855 hrs and 1035 hrs, actor(s) took a pair of Nike Air Jordan IV Black Cat sneakers from a locker room.  Total estimated value of loss $190.00.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On 1-24-24 police responded to the first block of Travelo Dr for a vandalism report.  Sometime between 1-23-24 at 2100 hrs and 1-24-24 at 0600 hrs, actor(s) attempted entry into a vehicle by manipulating the driver’s side door lock.  Total estimated value of damage $100.00.

ATTEMPTED VEHICLE THEFT: On 1-24-24 police responded to the 2700 block of Columbia Ave for an attempted vehicle theft report.  Sometime between 1-23-24 at 2030 hrs and 1-24-24 at 0700 hrs, actor(s) broke the rear passenger’s side window of a vehicle, made entry and removed the steering column cover.  Total estimated value of damage $500.00.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: On 1-24-24 police responded to the first block of Madge Dr for a vehicle on fire.  Following investigation, John R Newswanger (66) of Lancaster was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol-3rd Offense (M2).
