POLICE INCIDENTS FROM 11/17/23 THRU 11/28/23

HARASSMENT: On 11-17-23 Jomaira Ortiz (48) of Columbia was cited with Harassment (S), stemming from an incident 10-24-23 at Starbucks, 100 Rohrerstown Rd.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On 11-17-23 a 16-year-old male of Lancaster and a 16-year-old male of Columbia were charged with Criminal Mischief (M3), stemming from an incident 10-13-23 at Hempfield Rec Center, 1251 Stony Battery Rd.  Both juveniles allegedly activated a fire extinguisher on the basketball court when there was no fire.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: On 11-18-23 at 0407 hrs, police responded to the 2400 block of Spring Valley Rd for a disabled vehicle.  Following investigation, Phillip Ryan Baker (35) of Ephrata was charged with (2) counts of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol-2nd Offense (M).

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On 11-19-23 police responded to the Blue Collar Restaurant & Bar, 949 Church St, for a vandalism report.  Sometime between 11-18-23 at 2200 hrs and 11-19-23 at 1000 hrs, actor(s) pulled the toilet paper dispenser from the wall.  Total estimated value of damage $20.00.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On 11-19-23 at 1236 hrs, police responded to Noel Dorwart Park, 405 Good Dr, for two thefts from vehicle reports.  Sometime between 1145 hrs and 1230 hrs, actor(s) broke the front passenger side window of a vehicle and removed a purse.  Total estimated value of loss $60.00.  Total estimated value of damage $150.00.  The second vehicle’s rear passenger side window was broken, but nothing was found to be missing.  Total estimated value of damage $150.00.

POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA: On 11-20-23 a 16-year-old female student of Lancaster was charged with Possession of Marijuana (M), stemming from an incident 11-15-23 at Hempfield High School, 200 Stanley Ave.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: On 11-20-23 Caren Fountain-Thomas (38) of Columbia, a 17-year-old male student of Lancaster and a 15-year-old male student of Lancaster were all cited with Disorderly Conduct (S), stemming from an incident 11-8-23 at Hempfield High School, 200 Stanley Ave.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On 11-20-23 police responded to Purina Mills, 3029 Hempland Rd, for a vandalism report.  Sometime between 11-17-23 at 1700 hrs and 11-18-23 at 0500 hrs, actor(s) accessed the roof of the building and threw a fire extinguisher and several large steel bearings, approximately 120 feet, to the concrete pad on the ground below.  Total estimated value of damage $2,400.00.

THEFT OF VEHICLE PARTS: On 11-21-23 police responded to the 1700 block of Marietta Ave for a theft report.  Sometime between 11-20-23 at 1600 hrs and 11-21-23 at 1400 hrs, actor(s) broke the front sensor cover on a truck and removed the distance sensor control module.  Total estimated value of loss $350.00.  Total estimated value of damage $20.00.

ATTEMPTED VEHICLE THEFT: On 11-21-23 police responded to the 2600 block of Columbia Ave for a theft report.  Sometime between 11-20-23 at 1830 hrs and 11-21-23 at 0643 hrs, actor(s) entered an unlocked vehicle and removed the steering column housing, turn signals and wiper handles in an attempt to steal the vehicle.  Total estimated value of damage $250.00.

RETAIL THEFT: On 11-21-23 a 16-year-old male of Strasburg, two 15-year-old males of Strasburg and a 16-year-old male of Lancaster were all cited with Retail Theft (S) and Purchase/Possess Alcoholic Beverage by a Minor (S).  The four juveniles entered Sheetz, 1655 Rohrerstown Rd, on 11-10-23 and allegedly took multiple 12 packs of alcoholic beverages from the cooler.  Total estimated value of loss $149.83.

THEFT BY DECEPTION: On 11-22-23 Jennie Leona Blackwell (38) of Lancaster was charged with Theft by Deception (M1), stemming from incidents that occurred at Turkey Hill, 257 Centerville Rd, between 7-18-23 and 8-22-23.  Blackwell was allegedly voided customer cash transactions and took the cash for herself. Total estimated value of loss $407.09.  A warrant was issued for her arrest.

PROTECTION FROM ABUSE VIOLATION: On 11-22-23 Nathan J Yingst (37) of Willow Street was charged with Arrest for Violation of Order (M3), stemming from information received by police on 11-17-23.

ATTEMPTED VEHICLE THEFT: On 11-24-23 police responded to Royce Automotive, 2707 Columbia Ave, for a theft report.  On 11-20-23 at approximately 2255 hrs, two males entered a vehicle and broke a steering cover. Total estimated value of damage is unknown at this time.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On 11-25-23 police responded to the Dollar General, 3515 Columbia Ave, for a vandalism report.  Sometime between 1000 hrs and 1300 hrs, actor(s) broke the window of a vehicle in the parking lot.  Total estimated value of damage $250.00.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On 11-28-23 at 1810 hrs, police responded to the Dollar General, 3515 Columbia Ave, for a theft report.  Sometime between 1330 hrs and 1400 hrs, actor(s) removed a backpack containing a wallet from an unlocked vehicle.  Total estimated value of loss $220.00.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE: On 11-28-23 at 2245 hrs, police responded to the Blue Collar Restaurant & Bar, 949 Church St, for a theft report.  Sometime between 1500 hrs and 2240 hrs, actor(s) broke the rear passenger side window and left pry marks on both passenger side doors.  Nothing was found to be missing from the vehicle.  Total estimated value of damage $600.00.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: On 11-27-23 Nichole Lee Popp (40) of Hanover was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol-2nd Offense (M) and several summary traffic violations, stemming from a single vehicle accident 11-22-23 on the Route 283 East on-ramp off of Spooky Nook Rd.  A warrant was issued for her arrest.

POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DELIVER MARIJUANA:  On 11-27-23 Edwin Xavier Morales Jr (18) of Lancaster was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana (F) and Use/Possess Drug Paraphernalia (M), stemming from an incident 10-14-23 at Lowe’s, 25 Rohrerstown Rd.  A warrant was issued for his arrest.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE: On 11-27-23 at 1617 hrs, police responded to several reports of a reckless driver on Route 30 traveling westbound and then eastbound in loops.  The vehicle struck another vehicle on Centerville Rd, but continued driving until coming to a stop moments later after striking the jersey barrier on Route 30 East in the area of Rohrerstown Rd.  The driver, Rebecca Reed (46) of Bayport, NY was taken into custody and charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (M1), Resisting Arrest (M2) and Accident Involving Damage to Attended Vehicle (M3).

DEFIANT TRESPASS: On 11-27-23 Kurt U Bergey (56) of Lancaster was charged with Defiant Trespass (M3), stemming from an incident 11-21-23 in the 3400 block of Columbia Ave.

HARASSMENT: On 11-28-23 Vanessa K Chambers (39) of Manheim was cited with Harassment (S), stemming from an incident 11-10-23 at Sunoco, 2141 Marietta Ave.

PROTECTION FROM ABUSE VIOLATION: On 11-28-23 a 15-year-old male of Columbia was charged with Arrest for Violation of Order (M3), stemming from an incident 11-28-23 at Hempfield High School, 200 Stanley Ave.
