During the afternoon of Monday, March 2, 2026, East Hempfield Police were made aware of a vehicle failing to yield on Rt. 30 East by police department(s) involved in the investigation of a shots fired incident earlier on this date in West Hempfield Twp. The vehicle that the other department(s) were attempting to stop exited Rt. 30 onto Centerville Rd., and it eventually stopped behind a business in the 2900 block of Columbia Ave., with the occupant(s) fleeing the vehicle on foot. The occupant(s) were reportedly observed running into the Arbor Park trailer park community. Police extensively searched this area, and out of an abundance of caution issued a shelter in place warning for Arbor Park residents due to the time of day and children coming home from school. No one was injured or taken into custody, and this concluded the involvement of East Hempfield Twp. Police.
