On 8/22/20 at approximately 1:45am an officer with the Columbia Borough Police Department was on routine patrol in the 200 block of Union Street when he heard a loud noise which he thought may have been fireworks or gun shots.  Around the same time he was notified by County Dispatch that several people in the area had reported hearing shots fired.  The officer parked his vehicle and spoke with several neighbors, who all reported hearing the shots.  Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact the Columbia Borough Police Department at 717-684-7735 or by texting LANCS to 847411.
