In the early morning hours of 7/18/2026, Officers from the Columbia Borough Police Department, with the assistance of numerous neighboring agencies, took Jared Gower into custody. Mr. Gower had an active warrant for a stabbing which occurred in West Hempfield Township on 7/16/2026, and had committed a separate stabbing and sexual assault earlier in the morning of 7/18/2026. Further information regarding the stabbing and sexual assault will come once charges have been filed against Mr. Gower. Thanks to the efforts of responding Officers, Mr. Gower was located within an hour and a half of the most recent incident. Mr. Gower was attempting to hide from law enforcement, and was taken into custody without incident.
