On 09-12-21 at approx. 7:28PM the Columbia Borough Police and West Hempfield Twp. Police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Malleable Rd. and Pheasant Dr. Officers on scene discovered that a 34 year old male from Columbia was operating a motorcycle and passed a vehicle on Malleable Rd. The motorcyclist was still in the oncoming lane of traffic and attempted to pass another vehicle operated by a 61 year old male of Columbia. The second vehicle that the motorcyclist attempted to pass was making a left turn onto Pheasant Dr. when he was struck on his driver side by the motorcyclist. The motorcycle operator died at the scene.

The Columbia Borough Police Department was assisted by the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office, Lancaster County Coroner's Office as well as West Hempfield, East Hempfield, Manor Twp. and West Lampeter Twp. police departments.
