The last two nights NPPD, along with many departments, participated in “Operation Nighthawk” with the Pennsylvania State Police. The mission of Operation Nighthawk is to save lives and deter impaired driving. 
This year the detail was dedicated to the memory of PSP Trooper Martin Mack and Trooper Branden Sisca.  They were tragically struck and killed in the line of duty, while assisting a pedestrian. They were killed by a DUI driver. 

Operation Nighthawk teams municipal and regional police agencies with state police troopers for roving DUI enforcement patrols.

We ask that everyone please plan a sober ride. Driving impaired will change your life and the lives of so many. It IS preventable.  Don’t drink and drive!  Stay alive!
