We want to inform the community about a phone scam where fraudsters impersonate local law enforcement, including officers from the Nether Providence Police Department. The most recent incident occurred today (Nov. 22).
These scammers may demand payment to avoid arrest for supposed warrants. Please remember that the police will never ask for money, credit cards, checks, money orders, wire transfers, bitcoin, Apple gift cards, or any other form of payment directly from individuals under investigation.
If you receive a suspicious call and are uncertain about its legitimacy, please contact the police station directly or dial 911 to speak with an officer. Additionally, you can verify any criminal or traffic charges against you by checking the PA Dockets and reaching out to the court that issued them.
