The Dauphin County DUI Task Force, in conjunction with the Police Traffic Safety Grant, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (Penn DOT), and its safety partners are reminding motorists of the dangers of impaired driving in advance of Saint Patrick's Day celebrations. The Saint Patrick’s Day Impaired Driving Enforcement period is March 6 to March 17 and is designed to deter drivers from getting behind the wheel while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The Dauphin County DUI Task Force will be participating in two separate initiatives in connection with the Saint Patrick’s Day celebrations.
The first being Operation Sober Shamrock which takes place over the weekend of March 6-8, 2026.
During Operation Sober Shamrock there will be 10 Dauphin County municipal law enforcement departments participating in enforcement activities geared at deterring impaired drivers from getting behind the wheel in connection with the St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
The second enforcement initiative will be Roving DUI patrols within Dauphin County the weekend of March 13-15, 2026.
We are encouraging all that are going to celebrate, they do so responsibly and plan to get home safely by designating a sober driver or calling a rideshare.
