On March 4, 2026, the Lower Paxton Bureau of Police spotted a vehicle, reported stolen from Connecticut, driving on Jonestown Road. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it sped away, eventually crashing into a structure on Elmerton Avenue. The driver, later identified as Jose Figueroa, fled on foot but was quickly apprehended. A search of Figueroa revealed a handheld taser and drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Dauphin County Booking Center, where he was charged with multiple counts, including receiving stolen property, fleeing and eluding, evading arrest, possession of an incapacitation device, and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as traffic-related offenses. Figueroa was arraigned by MDJ Pianka, who set bail at $75,000. Unable to post bail, Figueroa was committed to Dauphin County Prison.
