The Harrisburg Police have seen an increase in theft and theft attempts of Hyundai and Kia vehicles that were manufactured without engine immobilizers (certain models from 2011 to 2022). Residents who own an affected Hyundai or Kia are encouraged to secure their vehicles and ensure that the proper repairs have been made to address the manufacturing issue.    

Residents affected are also welcome to obtain a free steering wheel lock from the Harrisburg Police lobby, located at 123 Walnut Street, open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm.
