On Sept. 25th, 2017, Mayor Eric Papenfuse and Chief Thomas C. Carter held an award ceremony recognizing the hard work and dedication performed by our officers and other law enforcement officers.  The awards included for Valor, Bravery, Heroism, Merit, and Distinguished Unit Citations.  The department also promoted officers from several ranks. In addition, an award for Civilian Heroism was given to a local citizen.
