On Friday August 14th 2026, at about 10:30am, the Harrisburg Police responded to the 2300 block of Derry Street for a report of a pedestrian struck. Upon the arrival of officers, they discovered that a vehicle traveling west in the 2300 block of Derry Street had struck a stationary vehicle. The stationary vehicle then struck a pedestrian, causing critical injuries to the pedestrian victim. The victim, an adult female, was transported from the scene to a local hospital where they later died as a result of their injuries. 

An investigation was immediately initiated and is currently being handled by the Harrisburg Police Traffic Safety Unit. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Harrisburg Police, at 717-558-6900. Tips and information can also be submitted via the CRIMEWATCH website.
