November 13, 2025: Commonwealth v. Annjalee Nunez- Annjalee Nunez was taken into custody Wednesday evening, November 12, 2025. Ms. Nunez turned herself in to the Mechanicsburg Police. She was preliminarily arraigned, and she was committed to the Cumberland County Prison, without bail, pending a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Jonathan Birbeck, Esq. She is charged with third degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child. The charges stem from the January 10, 2023, death of her almost 3-year-old daughter. Her daughter died as the result of a fentanyl overdose. An investigation into her death revealed her daughter was repeatedly exposed to fentanyl for months prior to her death.
